Professor Lianzhou Wang's team including researchers Dr Yang Bai and Mengmeng Hao have set a new world efficiency record for solar cells using the innovative ‘quantum dot’ approach.
In statements made be Professor Lianzhou Wang "The new class of quantum dots solar cells are flexible and printable. This opens up a huge range of potential applications, including the possibility to use it as a transparent skin to power cars, planes, homes and wearable technology." "We can generate electricity from weak light, for example, from the inside lighting."
