Three Recipients for the 2018 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad for Wang Group

Drs Mu Xiao, Yuxiang Hu and Songcan Wang, all from Professor Lianzhou Wang’s research group, were awarded the prestigious 2018 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad from the China Scholarship Council.

The Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad was established by the China Scholarship Council in 2003, and it is considered to be the highest award given by the Chinese government to graduate students studying aboard. Recipients are chosen worldwide each year for their outstanding accomplishments in academia.  Only 55 students received this award in Australia in 2018.

Dr. Mu Xiao research focuses on the design of functional nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage including photoelectrochemical/photocatalytic water splitting, CO2 reduction and rechargeable batteries.

Dr.Yuxiang Hu research is focused on functional nanomaterials for enhanced electrodes material in the Metal-ion battery, such as Aluminum-ion battery and sodium-ion battery.

Dr. Songcan Wang’s research is mainly focused on the design of functional nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage including photoelectrochemical/photocatalytic water splitting, CO2 reduction and rechargeable batteries.
