Nanoparticle platforms for biomedical applications: manipulating the nano-bio interface

Nanotechnology has emerged as a promising approach for precision diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases. Dr Jie Tang's research is dedicated to both fundamental and applied research at the nano-bio interface through nanomaterial innovation, focused on the central theme of delivery of various active molecules for therapeutic benefit. She has multi-disciplinary expertise that bring together biomedical engineering, pharmaceutics, and nanotechnology in developing nanoparticle platforms for drug delivery, cancer immunotherapy and vaccine adjuvants, and achieved 40 research outputs, including patents. Her capacity to conduct high-quality innovative research is evidenced by >94% of her studies published in top 10% journals in Chemistry, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Medicine, & Biotechnology (SJR). Her research pioneers the new concept that unique surface nanostructure and chemistry of nanoparticles significantly impacts cell behaviour and have been adopted for new nanoparticle-based drug screening platform, drug delivery system, vaccine adjuvant and disease detection.
